There will be an organizational meeting Tuesday, November 1st, at 7:30 a.m. in Mr. Wheaton’s room, C105, for Students on a Sunrise Committee or those who will be participating on the gym floor in the Sunrise event being held on November 4th.

MVHS will host an SAT test on December 3. The deadline for registrations is November 3.

Please continue to bring in your canned food to the athletic foyer between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. each morning until November 2. You will be given a ticket for each can or $1 donation brought in. The tickets will be entered into a drawing for one of six $25 gift certificates given away at the Channel 14 Sunrise event on Friday, November 4. You must be present to win.

MVHS will be hosting a mock election. All students will be able to vote online through a link provided to his or her school email. The link will be sent today. Students will have until Tuesday, November 1st to vote. The results will be announced on Wednesday, November 2nd during the morning broadcast. ALL students are encouraged to participate.

Any senior that wishes to be recognized on the College Ready wall in the athletic foyer should get a copy of their college acceptance letter to Mrs. Martin in the counseling office. E-mail submissions are also acceptable.

There will be a mandatory Art Camp work day after school today until 5:00p.m. for all Art Guild members working the camp tomorrow. See Mrs. Glaser with questions.


Breakfast is served daily from 7:30-8:00 am.

Yearbooks can be ordered online at  using school order number 17198, or by check made payable to Mt. Vernon Senior High School, Attention Yearbook. The cost is $60.  Senior ads are due by April 10.

The Youth First "Most of Us" campaign is a research-based campaign to reduce teen alcohol and substance abuse among high school students by correcting misperceptions and promoting positive social norms.
